DANCING IN BED
Second book in the healthcare trilogy

No Way But Through

DANCING IN BED is an ideal short book for people who are going through the actual process of a hospital adventure. This is a read-it-to-yourself book.

The author writes as if she were the patient not about him. She walks the reader through her own struggles to look for the light and meaning at the end of the tunnel of her surgical trauma.

Abundantly sprinkled with humor for such a heavy subject, it is a more meaningful gift than flowers. Written in bite-sized segments yet packed with biblical principles, it is easy to digest by the patient who may be in a woozy mental state and have a short attention span from on-going hospital procedures.

Hospital Gowns Don't Have Pockets! is the mother-ship book from which a series of three mini-books has evolved like cell division. Each of the three parts of the original book has become a separate, user-friendly book targeted to what a patient is dealing with at that particular point.

Original artwork was created especially for this book by artist Gail Waeber. GG the bunny offers a Personal Workout at the end of each chapter. He scampers throughout the book along with Nurse Meow, the solicitous feline attendant.

The first popular spin-off mini-book is Are You Mad at Me, God? Jumping Illness Hurdles. It has been reprinted several times and ordered in quantity by churches and friends of people who are encountering an illness or surgery. It focuses on the initial response, questions, fears and apprehensions of a person who faces some physical disorder that needs medical or surgical intervention.

The third spin-off book, Recovery and Reentry, A New Normal, assists the patient to step carefully through the minefield that may lie on his road to restoration. Optimistic and realistic, it too is brimming with humor.

This middle book, Dancing in Bed, My Hospital Classroom, addresses the nitty-gritty mid-point in the illness/surgery saga—making one's way through hospitalization. The author doesn't claim to have all the answers, but she puts on her hospital slippers to walk with you through your illness adventure.
